Holy Cross Day

Holy Cross Day and Oktoberfest

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

This Sunday, we will observe Holy Cross Day, an observance that dates back to the 4th century when it was believed the cross of Jesus was discovered. Whether it was the true cross or not, it does not matter to Lutherans. Our faith remains in “Christ the crucified.” (1 Corinthians 2:2) But this observance gives us an opportunity to learn again why the cross is so important to our faith and life as Christians.

Another event happening this Sunday is our second annual Oktoberfest! I hope you will make plans to join us, enjoy a brat, and share in some fellowship. This is a great chance for us not only to have fun together but also to strengthen our relationships, share stories, have some laughs, and watch the children run around with the energy most of us wish we still had!

See you on Sunday!

In Christ,

Pastor Rogness
