Memento at Good Shepherd

Memento at Good Shepherd began with a small group of men taking part in a broader LCMS initiative to bring men together in prayer, called Memento.

After finding purpose in gathering for prayer and fellowship, the men wanted to invite all the men of the church to join them, build stronger bonds, and strengthen their relationships and faith in Christ Jesus.

The men of Memento at Good Shepherd strive to meet on the third Saturday of each month for fellowship and activities.

The Goal of Memento at Good Shepherd

The goal of Memento at Good Shepherd can be found in the following passages of Scripture:

For the men to dwell in unity, as the Psalmist writes,

“Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!” (Psalm 133:1)

To act like men, as the Apostle Paul wrote,

“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” (1 Corinthians 16:13-14)

To become brothers to one another through life's trials and tribulations, and to learn to love one another as Christ loves us.

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” (Proverbs 17:17)

To become better husbands, fathers, and friends,

“Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.” (Ephesians 5:25-27)
