Day of Pentecost

Where Was Pastor Last Week?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I missed you all last week, but I am grateful for the opportunity you provided for Dillin Lafferty and me to attend the DOXOLOGY conference in Middleton, WI. DOXOLOGY is an organization of the LCMS that aims to support pastors in their faith while enhancing their competencies and skills as faithful stewards of God’s gifts.

The three-day retreat that Dillin and I attended was aimed at pastors and lay leaders of their church. Throughout the weekend, numerous classes and presentations focused on how God builds His Church, how we can share mutual encouragement for one another, and stewardship. Sometimes we participated in these presentations together, while at other times, the lay leaders and pastors separated for further learning and discussions.

Overall, this week seeks to strengthen our relationships, to be nourished by God’s Word, and to be reminded that everything the Church does flows from the love of Christ, as demonstrated in His cross.

Please stay tuned to next week’s newsletter as I’ve asked Dillin to share his thoughts on the weekend with you, too.

If you’d like to learn more about DOXOLOGY, you can go to their website here.

God’s peace be with you,
Pastor Rogness
