Have You Heard About the RaiseRight/SCRIP Program?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

As the congregational president’s recent letter conveyed, amid ongoing financial challenges, we continue to explore additional ways to strengthen our financial stability. One resource already available to us is the SCRIP program, also known as RaiseRight.

The primary way this program works is by allowing you to buy gift cards for specific businesses, and the church receives a percentage of your purchase back. So, if you buy a $100 gas gift card for Kwik Trip and their advertised return is 4%, the church will automatically get $4.

You receive a $100 gift card, and the church receives $4.

Now, there are times when some organizations like Kwik Trip raise their percentage back to 10% or more (expected this September, for example), and at those times, the church can really benefit from our use of the RaiseRight/SCRIP program as we make our everyday purchases.

So, how do you purchase gift cards through the RaiseRight/SCRIP program?
1. You can submit an order through the church office. The church will order cards for you and let you know when they arrive. A list of companies and brands participating in the program can be found here.
2. Secondly, if you have a smart phone, you can download the RaiseRight app on your phone, connect your bank account to your profile, and purchase gift cards while you are in line waiting to check out at Walmart, and the gift card is available for immediate use.
3. Lastly, you can use your computer to order or purchase digital gift cards to use online or while you are out and about.

The church is going to have a table set-up this Sunday to provide additional information and explain the RaiseRight/SCRIP program more to you.

Good Shepherd has had RaiseRight/SCRIP for years, but only a handful of people have used it in recent years. Even with underutilization, last year Good Shepherd earned $225. Thus, if we all actively start using this benefit, there’s potential for significant earnings.

Our hope is that we can utilize this tool more fully to offset some of our financial shortfalls.

Please consider participating.

In Christ,
Pastor Rogness
